Vacation at the Birkenhof farm in Spring
In spring, nature is rejuvenated – give yourself a relaxing break with a vacation at the farm.
The Birkenhof is located in a quiet and very sunny spot at 1,440 meters above sea level and about a 10-minute walk away from the center of Meransen (Maranza). It is surrounded by lush green meadow and forests, which are crisscrossed by farm tracks and hiking trails.
The warm spring sun is melting the last snow and the first spring flowers like crocus, anemones and Alpine roses are blooming. In the Altfasstal (Valle d’Altafossa), the mountain streams are rushing the melt water down into the valley. Enjoy the spirit of spring and listen to the nature coming alive again.
The Birkenhof farm is an excellent starting point for the many leisure-time activities available in spring: Nordic walking, cycling, mountain-bike tours, simple hikes, rides in horse-drawn carriages…
If you are looking for a special adventure and love feeling weightlessness, you will find it while paragliding in the Gitschberg flight area with its unique panorama and view of the Pustertal (Valle Pusteria), Eisacktal (Valle Isarco), and into the Dolomites.
The Unterkircher family on the Kircherhof farm has established a renowned Noriker stud farm and is offering summer and winter horse-drawn carriage rides in and around Meransen.
The Episcopal town of Brixen (Bressanone) has a special flair, and with its many historical buildings and contemporary and stylish shops, it invites visitors to tour the city or to go on a shopping expedition.
